How does per-device pricing work?

Each device has its own monthly licence: ₹2,499 per self-checkout kiosk, ₹999 per POS terminal, ₹699 per kitchen display, ₹599 per digital menu board, ₹399 per mini-signage screen, ₹15 per electronic price tag, and ₹1,499 per loyalty outlet (unlimited customers). When do volume discounts kick in?

Automatically. 5+ paid devices: 10% off every line. 10+: 15% off. 25+: 20% off. 50+ unlocks a custom plan with white-glove rollout, dedicated success manager and SLA. Price tags are bucketed in packs of 50 for volume tier purposes (so 250 tags counts as 5 device units, not 250).

What is the difference between mini digital signage and a digital menu board?

Size and use case. A digital menu board is the big screen above the counter showing your full menu. Mini-signage is a 7" to 15" colour screen for shelf-ends, aisle promos, counter callouts and combo spotlights — animated content that an electronic price tag cannot do. Both are managed from the same dashboard. Menu boards are ₹599/mo each; mini-signage screens are ₹399/mo each.

What is the difference between mini digital signage and an electronic price tag?

Mini-signage is a powered colour screen with animated content (combo videos, promo loops, stock callouts). Electronic price tags are battery-powered black-and-white e-paper labels that show one price and refresh in seconds. Many supermarkets run both — animated promo banner above, static price tag on each shelf.

Is the pricing inclusive of GST?

No — GST (18%) is added on top of the listed monthly fee, as required under Indian SaaS taxation. The calculator shows your subtotal, GST, and total separately so there are no surprises. You receive a fully GST-compliant invoice every month.

Do I have to buy hardware from EnsmblOS?

Accepted Answer

No. EnsmblOS runs on standard touch kiosks, Android POS tablets, Windows kitchen screens, BLE-based electronic shelf labels and small Android-driven mini-signage screens. We offer pre-flashed bundles for convenience (sold at near-cost, no software mark-up), but you can bring your own hardware as long as it meets the minimum spec.

What happens during an internet outage?

The kiosk and POS continue to take orders offline. Payments via UPI need connectivity, but cash and printed bills work in offline mode. Orders sync to the cloud automatically when the network returns. Order numbers are self-healing so there is no duplication.

Where is my data stored, and who owns it?

Accepted Answer

Data is stored in Mumbai (ap-south-1) on Supabase’s ISO-27001-certified infrastructure. You own your data. We can export it on request in CSV or JSON within 24 hours. Customer PII (phone, email, name) is encrypted at rest using AES-256 keys held in a managed vault.

How long is the contract?

Monthly plans are month-to-month — cancel any time with 30 days’ notice. Annual prepay (15% discount) locks in pricing for 12 months. There are no multi-year lock-ins on any device, and you can add or remove devices any time.

How do refunds work?

Accepted Answer

Software fees are refundable pro-rata if you cancel within the first 30 days. Hardware is refundable within 14 days of delivery (less shipping). PhonePe refunds to customers are processed in real time from the dashboard.

Is EnsmblOS DPDPA-compliant?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We implement the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 — explicit consent records, the right to be deleted, data portability, breach notification, and data residency in India. Our security page documents the controls in detail.

Does the loyalty wallet work across multiple brands I own?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Ensmbl Member wallet is phone-keyed and multi-brand by design. Customers see all your brands in one app, and each brand maintains its own points balance, rewards and campaigns.

How quickly can a new outlet go live?

Accepted Answer

A standard outlet with pre-flashed hardware is live within 48 hours of arrival. Multi-outlet roll-outs take 1–2 weeks per batch of five outlets, including staff training in English and Hindi.
